Hill caves in behind constn site at Derebail : 1 dead ; 2 critical

Mangalore, Apr 30, 2014:  A mishap at a construction site near Derebail Church on April 30, Wednesday afternoon has claimed the life of a labourer and has left two others injured.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The mishap took place when a hill behind the construction site caved in all of a sudden, trapping the three beneath the soil.  Kasappa, a labourer of Badami origin died of suffocation. The fire service personnel who rushed to the spot rescued two other workers who were caught beneath the soil.

The injured have been rushed to a private hospital. The construction was being done by Victoria Builders.

Two workers had lost their lives in a similar accident reported in another construction site in the area some time back.
