Mangaluru,Sep 16,2017: Heavy rains that have been lashing the city since Friday has resulted in water logging at several places causing hardship to the students.

At KS Rao Road, two cars parked in the basement of an apartment complex  were damaged when the retention wall of another apartment complex near City Centre collapsed on Friday night.

Artificial floods also caused havoc at Kodialbail, Bejai, Attavar and other places. MCC has been receiving complaints that water has gushed into houses in several areas. Mayor Kavitha Sanil has instructed the officials to visit the affected areas and initiate remedial measures.

Lobo takes stock of situation  : Mangaluru South MLA JR Lobo visited the area behind KMC at Attavar which was badly affected due to water logging. He sought a  detailed report regarding the  problem and directed the officials to take necessary action. He  further assured to convene a meeting soon to  hold discussions about the compensation that may be provided to  the affected people.

MCC Commissioner Mohammad Nazeer and other officials were present.
