Heavy rains continue to lash DK, Udupi

Mangalore, July 3, 2013 : Heavy rains have been lashing various parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts since the past two days. It rained throughout the day in Mangalore on July 2, Tuesday and the city is also witnessing incessant downpours even on July 3, Wednesday.

Puttur too has been receiving heavy rains. Strong winds  damaged some plantations and houses in Ichlampady area. Heavy rains have also been reported from Moodbidri, Sullia, Suratkal, Kinnigoli and Mulki areas.

The pilgrim town of Subrahmanya too is experiencing heavy downpours with Kumaradhara and other small rivers overflowing. Even the water levels in Netravathi river has risen to some extent.

In Ullal, the house of one Sayyed Mohammad of Amblamogaru was damaged. Even the houses of Mariamma and Usman were damaged. In  Konaje too one house was damaged in the rains. Various places in Kundapur too  are receiving incessant rains disrupting normal life.
