The young man Shivaraju(17) who hails from Chamarajanagara in Mysore had tried to meet the minister while he was in Mysore but failed in his effort. But without losing hope, he managed to travel to Mangalore by train with the help of some kind hearted people and succeeded in meeting the Minister who has now offered him free medical treatment.

The tale of Shivaraju is pathetic. He had lost both his parents when he was a kid. According to him, he was around seven years old when he developed back pain and  underwent treatment for the same. But it affected his legs and doctors had to amputate his right leg to save his life. Three years ago, he had developed pain in his left leg and had undergone treatment in Ramaiah Hospital in Bangalore. He says now doctors have advised that it would be best if even his other leg is amputated as otherwise it may prove risky to his life. But Shivaraju who was at a loss as he could not arrange funds for the surgery, has now succeeded in meeting the minister at Circuit House on January 4,  Saturday.

The Minister has also directed his Secretary to admit the young man to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Bangalore on January 6. The Minister has also written to the hospital authorities to take good care of Shivaraju who  has only his grandmother for him. That’s not all, the Health Minister has also given Shivaraju his personal mobile number so that he can contact him in case of any problem.

The Minister’s kind gesture has indeed won him accolades.
