Mangalore, Nov 6: V Ponnuraj, the deputy commissioner, formally inaugurated Arogyotsava, a comprehensive mega health exhibition, organized by Fr Muller Charitable Institutions on Fr Muller Grounds, Kankanady, on Nov 6.
In his inaugural speech he said that the need for medical services is always on the rise because people always need doctors and medical care. Unfortunately, a number of medical professionals focus only on money-making activities and do nothing to serve the poor. He urged the medical community to work in harmony toward the building of a healthy society.
Fr Dennis D’Sa welcomed the gathering; and Dr J P Alva proposed the vote of thanks.
In the exhibition, the students of Fr Mullers have displayed a wide variety of medical facilities. The general public is welcome to visit the exhibition and obtain any medical guidance they require. Arogyotsava comprises more than 50 stalls displaying a wide range of medical and health-related products, information, and services.
The centerpiece of the exhibition is the skeleton of Fr Augustus Muller, his cupboard, chair, clock, bed, books, medical instruments, and other personal belongings of Fr Muller. The exhibition will close on Nov 8.
