Mangaluru, July 3, 2017 : Ex-Congressman Harikrishna Bantwal who had recently charged DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai of abusing senior Congress leader Janardhana Poojary and others, has lashed out at Rai for denying the allegation and has dared him to take a vow at Dharmasthala.
Speaking to reporters here on July 4, Tuesday, Harikrishna Bantwal said Rai’s act of abusing Poojary in his absence can be a criminal offence. Giving a one week deadline for Rai to come out clear, he asked Rai to swear in front of Lord Manjunatha and Annappa in Dharmasthala. He said he would not have pursued the issue had Rai admitted his mistake.
On the reported comments of Ramanatha Rai that he would meet Congress President Sonia Gandhi and request her to give Poojary another chance to contest Lok Sabha elections, Harikrishna Bantwal said Sonia Gandhi was totally uanware of Rai.
During the press meet, Harikrishna Bantwal also played an audio clip wherein Congress member Arun Coelho states that Rai had abused Poojary in his presence. Harikrishna also stated that he would not pursue the issue any more if Rai swears at Dharmasthala.
