Hafta demand: Diner’s Paradise vandalised by miscreants

Mangalore, July 12, 2014:  There is information that police have arrested as many as seven persons in connection with the vandalism at the Diner’s Paradise Restaurant at Kadri Mallikatta in the city on July 9, Wednesday night.

 

 

 

 

Reportedly, the failure of the restaurant owner to yield to the demand for hafta by the assailants resulted in the incident wherein the furniture, computers and window panes were broken.

A few days ago, a person named Santoshraj had come to the restaurant with  two others and had refused to pay the bill after lunch. He even threatened the brother of the owner Waheed that his ‘Anna’s demand  need to be fulfilled. The man had arrived again three days later  refused to pay the bill and later paid the bill when the owner’s brother insisted.

He then reportedly left after warning that ‘Anna’s instructions will have to be followed.

Sources said the man who again arrived on Sunday was seen holding a knife and escaped along with his accomplices by the time the police rushed in.

However on July 9, Wednesday night he reportedly came wearing a helmet, attacked the owner’s brother and then escaped after  resorting to vandalism.
