Puttur, March 12, 2016: The Karnataka High Court has issued a stay to an order of the Puttur Sub-Division Assistant Commissioner banning the entry of Bhajrangdal activist and Go Raksha Pramukh Dhanya Kumar to Belthangady, Puttur and Sullia taluks. Dhanya Kumar is a resident of Kadaba.
Following AC K V Rajendra’s order, Dhanya had moved the High Court which has now stayed the order.
Dhanya Kumar is now planning to file an appeal to vacate the order. The AC’s order followed Dhanya’s involvement in several cases of immoral policing and disruption of peace in the region.
It is said he was also part of the group of Hindu activists who had stalled the screening of Shah Rukh starrer `Dilwaale’ in Puttur.
Meanwhile, District Superintendent of Police Sharanappa said the police will decide on its next move after it receives a copy of the High Court order.
