To oversee the examination for the candidate, Nethravathi, the high court has assigned a lady judicial officer from Bengaluru as an observer. The examination will take place at the district court in Mangaluru under the supervision of the Principal District and Sessions Judge of Dakshina Kannada.

The Registrar General of the High Court of Karnataka, KS Bharath Kumar, expressed appreciation for this considerate and compassionate gesture by Hon’ble Chief Justice Prasanna B Varale. He noted that such a gesture would be held in high esteem in the history of the High Court of Karnataka.

Out of the 6,000 candidates who appeared for the preliminary examination for 57 civil judge posts in July 2023, Nethravathi is one of the 1,022 candidates eligible for the main examination. The main examination is scheduled to take place on November 18 and 19 in Bengaluru.

Nethravathi had submitted a request to the high court, seeking permission to write the examination in Mangaluru due to her delicate health condition, and the request was considered by the High Court Committee for Direct Recruitment of Civil Judges. The committee, consisting of Justice PS Dinesh Kumar, Justice K Somashekar, Justice S Sunil Dutt Yadav, Justice Ashok S Kinagi, and Justice M Nagaprasanna, approved the request.
