Guidelines for passengers of special trains by Indian Railway

Mangaluru, May 13, 2020: Running of special trains has been announced. In view of the prevailing situation, passengers need to observe various measures and precautions to ensure safety.  The guidelines are provided below.

 

A.Mandatory norms to be followed by passengers

1.Only passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the railway station and board the train.

2.Passengers should wear face cover / mask throughout the journey.

3.Only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to travel.

4.Passengers should reach the railway station at least 90 minutes before the departure of the train.

5.Passengers should follow social distancing at railway station and on board train.

6.Passengers must follow all safety protocols prescribed by the authorities and health personnel.

7.Passengers must have Aarogya Setu app installed in their mobile phones.


B.Availability of Services

1.Parking of vehicles will not be permitted in station premises and parking area.

2.No linen will be supplied during journey.

3.No catering will be available except limited supply of packaged items on demand and on payment basis inside trains.

C.Booking of Tickets

1.Only e-tickets can be booked through IRCTC website.

2.Booking through agents not permitted.

3.Unreserved tickets will not be available.

4.The Advance Reservation Period for booking tickets will be 7 days.

5.Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets will not be available.

D.Travel Advisory to passengers

1. Passengers should carry hand sanitizers and masks.

2. Masks should be used throughout the journey.

3.Passengers should not move around the coaches unnecessarily.

4.Hands must be sanitized or washed frequently; unnecessary touching of objects like door handles must be avoided.

5.Littering inside coaches to be avoided.  Help railways to maintain cleanliness.

6.Passengers should not spit in vestibule areas and from doors, windows, etc.

7.Passengers should not travel standing near the doors.

8.Passengers must help maintain cleanliness of the toilets and keep it clean after use.

9.Social distancing should be observed inside trains.

10.The health advisory issued by state government is also to be followed as a matter of precaution.
