Those hospitalised are Vidyasagar, Suhan and Dikshith. According to them , the attackers were Manoj, Nikhil, Nishan and Karthik. But another source said they were injured following clashes between ABVP members themselves.

It is learnt, on Monday a student named Suhan was assaulted by a group of nearly 20 students  over the issue of not supporting  a particular group during the elections. Sources said Suhan had in fact been threatened on the day of the election itself.

In the meantime, reports say a final year student of journalism was also assaulted. However, in this case, sources said he was attacked for harassing female students.

The situation was brought under control by the Pandeshwar police who rushed to the spot on gathering the information.

In the meantime, College Principal Satyanarayana said the clashes  erupted over the issue of elections. He  made it clear that  the clashes were  in no way connected to the incident wherein ABVP activists abused and threatened him on the day of the elections.

On the other hand Shyam Bhat, the President of the College  Students Council demanded the intervention of the Vice Chancellor in the issue.
