Mangalore,April 13, 2014: An incident wherein two youngsters were assaulted by a group solely for the reason that they came to the rescue of a friend whom the group tried to assault was reported late night on April 11, Friday at Kallaup Kerebailu in Ullal police station limits.
It is learnt, the miscreants wanted to attack the youth taking exception to their participation in the Congress election campaigning
The victims identified as Vighnesh (18) and Sharief (18) have been hospitalised. Of the two Vighnesh along with Prateek was campaigning for the Congress. The same was questioned by a group led by Pavitra Kumar and comprising Devadas, Pradeep and Pushparaj.
A complaint has been lodged in Ullal police station.
