Great response for Alzheimer’s Awareness ’Purple Run’

Mangaluru, Sep 24, 2017: The Purple Run organised to create awareness on Alzheimer’s Disease in the city on September 24, Sunday was participated by hundreds of enthusiastic Mangalureans. The event was organised by Forum Fiza Mall and NIMHANS. City Police Commissioner T R Suresh flagged off the Run.

Mayor Kavitha Sanil who is on Navaratri fasting also participated in the 3 km run. The Marathon concluded at its starting point Forum Fiza Mall.

Mayor Kavitha Sanil and Mangaluru North MLA Moidin Bava distributed prizes to the winners. Farooq, Managing Director of Forum Fiza Group, Fayaz M H, Assistant Manager of Forum Mall, Diwaker, Corporator, were present among others.

As many as 2,270 people had registered their names for the Run. Prizes were awarded to the winners in the three km and five km run and half marathon in the male and female categories. Cash prizes worth over Rs 6 lakh and gift hampers were distributed to the winners.
