Govt plans sports university in state: Deputy CM Parameshwar

Moodbidri, Nov 25, 2018: Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwar has said that the state government has plans to set up a Sports Hub in Bengaluru in order to provide more encouragement to sports activities.
Speaking after inaugurating the 79th All India Athletics Event at Swarajya Maidan here on November 24 under the joint aegis of Mangalore University and Alva’s Education Foundation he said the government also intends to set up a Sports University in the state.
Eshwar P, in-charge Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University presided over the function. Veteran athlete P T Usha was felicitated on the occasion.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, local MLA Umanath A Kotian, former minister Abhayachandra Jain, City Police Commissioner T R Suresh, entrepreneur Kishore Alva and others were present.
