Mangalore, Mar 5, 2014 :  Senior BJP leader and former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa has  alleged that the Siddaramaiah led Congress government in the state had dropped several of the welfare schemes initiated by the previous BJP government and has implemented some other schemes just to boost its image and prestige.

Yeddyurappa was speaking to reporters in the city on March 4, Tuesday. Lashing out at the state government, he said it was not a pro-people government and has achieved nothing.

On the Yettinahole Project, he said there had been no need for the government to implement the project in haste without studying the pros and cons. He said the government has laid the foundation for the project with an eye on the elections.

He said the poor show of the Congress government will be a boon to the BJP in upcoming Lok Sabha elections and predicted that the BJP will win 20 out of the 28 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

The former chief minister made it clear that there was no confusion in the party with regard to seat distribution and added everything has been a smooth sail.

He refuted reports that his loyalists have been sidelined in the BJP. All loyalists including former  minister V Dhananjaya Kumar will be back in the party, Yeddyurappa said while admitting that there was indeed some confusion owing to a few statements made by Dhananjaya Kumar.

Former minister Shobha Karandlaje,  N Yogish Bhat, former MLA and former deputy speaker, Pratap Simha Nayak, District BJP President and others were present.
