Bengaluru, June 10, 2016, DHNS: The state government on Thursday accepted Kudligi DySP Anupama Shenoy’s resignation with immediate effect.
The government took the decision after Anupama declared that there was no question of withdrawing her resignation.
Anupama had resigned on June 4 after protests were staged against her over the construction of a godown of a liquor shop adjacent to Ambedkar Bhavan in Kudligi town. Anupama was upset because her orders to arrest those responsible for the agitation were not followed.
Following public outcry, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had clarified that the government would not accept her resignation. Anupama, who has been missing since tendering her resignation, surfaced in Kudligi on Thursday to say that she would not take back resignation.
