Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Jan 8, 2014: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) president Pravin Thogadia said that the government is discriminating against the Hindus, by taking over the management of some of the temples. Hence government must relieve all the temples and Maths from its control.

Speaking at the press meet held a Sanghaniketan hall on January 8, Wednesday, he said that if the Government do not stop taking over the temples, the Hindu activities will strongly protest against this not only in Karnataka but throughout the country.

Thogadia said that through the proposed Anti-Superstition Bill, government is targeting Hindus, but do not have courage to target the Christians and Muslims. Hence in order to appease them, the government implements various schemes for minorities like job guarantee, educational fee and Shaadi Bhaghya scheme, he said.

The Congress has wiped out many Hindus in Uttar Pradesh and not taking responsibility for it. Hence VHP and Bajarangdal activists are working to protect and promote Hindu religion and culture. Congress must not take Hindus for granted, he warned.

Commenting on evangelist Benny Hinn from visiting Bangalore, he said that Government must not allow Benny Hinn’s visit to state, since even though he is visiting the state to preach his religion, his main intention is to convert our Hindus and Congress government is supporting it.

Speaking on VHP, he said that Vishwa Hindu Parishad will be completing 50 years of its existence in few days and it plans to extend educational help and provide job opportunities to Hindus youths, since none of the government provide these to Hindus.

He also said that previous year, Congress government has provided 95 lakh Muslim and Christian youths with job, and hence government must extend such facilities to Hindu youths too.

Commenting on the recent Deralakatte case, Thogadia said that crime is a crime and they must be punished irrespective of religion and Congress government must not protect such criminals, since they are Muslims, he said.

VHP district working president Jagadish Shenava, Bhajarang Dal leader Sharan Pumpwell, Manohar Thulajaram, M B Puranik and others were present.
