Gory mishap at Channarayapattana claims lives of 4 of family from Gangolli

Kundapur, Jan 2, 2013: A macabre accident involving three cars near the Gulagunda Cross in Channarayapattana near Hassan on January 1, Wednesday evening, claimed the lives of six persons including four of a family from Gangolli. Five others sustained injuries in the accident.
The cars involved in the mishap included a Swift , Indica and Honda City. The accident occurred at a spot where four-laning is underway.
The deceased from Gangolli included Louis Pradeep Fernandes (30), his son Joshua (2), Philomena, sister-in-law of Pradeep, his cousin Sonia(26). The family was on way to Bangalore on New Year day when the tragedy struck. Two others killed were travelling in another car which was heading towards Tumkur.
It has been gathered that Priya, wife of Pradeep and their car driver Vijay were critically injured. Others injured are Prakash, Shanker and Santosh who were travelling in another car. The injured passengers have been admitted to the District Hospital at Hassan.
