Girish Putran murder : One more person arrested

Mangalore April 11, 2013 : A team of Bajpe police led by inspector Dinaker Shetty has arrested Prashanth (27) alias Pachu who was wanted in connection with the murder of Girish Putran of Hoigebazar. He is the last accused  in the case. The arrest was made at Shivabagh on April 10, Wednesday.

The police have already arrested three  persons namely Natasha from Kodikal, Ritesh  and Rajesh in connection with the case. The man arrested on April 10 was employee of MESCOM in Kalianpur and a friend of Natasha.

Putran (50) who was engaged in fisheries trade and land dealings, was found murdered  in Moorukodi in Permude village a couple of months ago. It is said as Putran was after Natasha who was supposed to marry Rajesh, the two plotted to kill  him with the help of Rithesh. It is said they had taken Putran in a Hyundai Eon car belonging to Prashanth, on the pretext of a land deal and then finished him off. 

The body was dumped at Permude after removing all gold ornaments which Putran was wearing. They later discarded the mobile phone of Putran at Bantwal and  set fire to the blood stained clothes in Belthangady where they  stayed in the house of an acquaintance.

All the stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 3.5 lakhs have been recovered from the arrested.

It is said the trio wanted to mislead the police probing the case by trying to make it look like a murder for gain while actually it was a murder to eliminate Putran just to prevent him from going after Natasha. The weapons used to stab Putran and the car has also been seized.
