Gangolli: Cattle smuggling vehicle seized; 1 arrested

Kundapur, July 10, 2013:  Gangolli police have seized a vehicle which was allegedly smuggling cattle, near the Jumma Masjid at Gangolli on July 9, Tuesday night. The action followed a tip off by the locals who suspected that the vehicle was smuggling cattle. One person named Khaja Saheb, a resident of Gangolli has been arrested.

Police found five cows crammed inside the vehicle. Three others who were in the vehicle took to the heels as soon as the vehicle was intercepted.

There is no information as to yet regarding the destination of the vehicle.

Though tension prevailed at the place following the incident, police beefed up security and ensured no untoward incidents occurred.
