Mangaluru, Nov 07, 2014: Mogaveera community members rejoiced the arrest of Satish Baikampady, the prime accused in the fishermen leader Gangadhar Pangala murder case by bursting crackers in Baikampady area on November 6, Thursday night. Satish Baikampady was absconding ever since the incident took place in May this year.
Gangadhar Pangala was killed by deliberately colliding a car against his scooter, reportedly out of personal enmity. Though initially it was thought to be a case of accident, later it came to light that it was a clear cut case of planned murder. Though other accused in the case were arrested by the then Panambur SI Bharathi led team, Satish was absconding and had even secured anticipatory bail.
Meanwhile, the Suratkal police arrested him recently and produced him before the court.
