Mangaluru, August 19, 2018: A call given by Gaud Saraswat Brahmin community of Mangalore for contribution to the flood victims has evoked good response and succeeded in mobilizing large amounts of relief materials.
5 trucks are expected to leave Mangalore on Monday to Kerala and Kodagu, for which the loading is in progress, according to sources.
G.S.B. Temples’ Association under the guidance the community’s spiritual leader Srimad Samyameendra Theertha Swami of Shree Kashi Math and in association with Sri Venkataramana Temple, Car Street had given a call to the community members to contribute relief materials to meet the needs and immediate requirements for those stranded or hit with adverse situations due to floods in Kerala and Kodagu.
The materials collection counter set up at Sri Venkataramana Temple, Car Street has received a large quantity of most of the requirements and some have been received in bulk. For ease of distribution and uniformity in dispatch, bulk quantities are being repacked to smaller bags so as to render it fit for distribution. Collection of materials include Rice, Salt, Sugar, Tea power, Coffee powder, Soaps and detergents, Tooth paste, Brushes, Pickles and items.
