Mangaluru, Jan 21, 2021: The demands placed before the government by the KSRTC Staff and Workers Federation on behalf of the employees of all the four road transport corporations of the state must be fulfilled at the earliest, demanded Federation President H V Ananthasubbarao.
Speaking to reporters at Press Club here on January 21, Thursday, he said the government policies has led to huge wage disparities between employees of government sector and employees of the transport corporations.
He pointed out that the Industrial Tribunal in its 2017 ruling had directed to increase their salary with retrospective effect from January 1, 2004 and also to provide the same at 6% interest. But the government instead of adhering to the ruling had moved the apex court and has brought about a stay, he said and added that the anti labour policy of the government has disappointed the employees. He further demanded that all the four transport corporations should be merged.
On this occasion, Ananthasubbarao said a delegation of women has met him and has complained against the harassment meted out to women staff by the head of the Mangaluru Division of KSRTC. He said the matter would be brought to the notice of the Transport Minister.
