Mangaluru, Feb 3, 2019: Rev Fr Denis Castelino passed away today Feb 1, 2019 at Father Muller Hospital, Kankanady. He was 75. He was born on April 8, 1945 in Moodubelle,  his parents are Raymond Castelino and Evelyn Noronha. He was known as a very humble and cordial person, a writer and priest for the people during his time.

Fr Denis was ordained in 1971. He served  at Bantwal (1971) Rosario Cathedral (1972) Director of Evangelisation (from 1979) Parish Priest of Nakre (from 1982) Priest In-charge of Kalmady (from 1987)  Parish Priest of Alangar (from 1994)  Director - Dalit Christians (Karkal Attur) (2001 - 2002) Mount Rosary, Alangar (2007 - 2009) Vianney Home / Zuze Vaz Home (from 2010). He was not in good health for a time but made him self useful where ever possible. He was well known in the Konkani literary circles.

Funeral Information  :  The last journey of late Fr Denis Castelino will commence on Monday, 4 February 2019 with Requiem Mass at 11 am at St Joseph Vaz Senior Priests’ Home, Jeppu, Mangaluru. Thereafter, the mortal remains will be taken to his ancestral home at Devaragudde, Moodubelle.

The mortal remains will be taken to St Lawrence Church, Moodubelle where from 2.15 pm to 3.45 pm parishioners and people from other parishes where late Fr Denis Castelino had served will pay respect. Funeral Mass will be at 4pm at St Lawrence Church, Moodubelle.
