Four killed, six injured in road accident at Adyar

Mangalore, March 12: At least two persons were killed and six people suffered serious injuries in an accident that occurred near Addyar-Kannur on the outskirts of the city on Friday, March 11.
Police said that the accident occurred when the car they were travelling collided with a lorry coming from opposite side.The victims have been identified as Nazeer, Abdullah, both residents of BC Road, Shabbir and Mushtaq Rahmath, residents of Bhantwal.
Eyewitnesses say that the driver of the truck lost control over his vehicle as he was drunk. The car, which was on its way to BC Road from Mangalore, was caught under the truck’s wheels.
Ambulances rushed to the spot within a few minutes and shifted the deceased and the injured to various city-based hospitals for emergency treatment or post mortem.
The Mangalore rural police have registered a case.
