Puttur Apr 25, 2016: Thieves stole away Rs. 5 lakh worth gold and silver jewelry and Rs. 5000 cash from the house of Dr Subramanya Bhat in Mukrampady He and his family had been to Kerala on April 16th, incident came to light when they returned from Kerala on April 24th.

Neighboring houses also been targeted in which the thief failed and returned empty handed, then they entered the house of Dr Subramanya by breaking the front door and stole jewelry and cash and able to flee from the spot.

The theft has been executed by professionals as several theft cases occurred in the town during the recent days. The police have cautioned the public aginst keeping jewelry at home and have advised the instead to deposit them in bank lockers in their own interest.
