Fitting felicitation for Dharmadhikari on April 14

Mangaluru, Apr 11, 2015:  Dr D Veerendra Heggade Padma Vibhushan Abhinandana Samiti is to organise  ’Abhivandana’ programme to felicitate Dr D Veerendra Heggade who has been honoured with ’Padma Vibhushan’ award recently. The sanmana is to be at Alva’s Palace Ground, Vidyagiri in Moodbidri on April 14.

Committee Honorary President and Nitte University Chancellor Dr N Vinay Hegde said Pejavar Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji and Moodbidri Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji will grace the occasion. Former chief ministers including Union Law Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, MP Dr M Veerappa Moily and MLA H D Kumaraswamy will participate in the event. Former union minister B Janardhan Poojary, District-in-Charge Minister B Ramanath Rai, Yenepoya University Chancellor Yenepoya Kunhi will speak.  Ministers Vinay Kumar Sorake, K Abhaychandra Jain, U T Khader, MP Shobha Karandlaje, Nalin Kumar Kateel and Milagres College Principal Fr Xavier Gomes will be the chief guests. Dr N Vinay Hegde will preside over the function.

Cultural programmes will begin at 4.30 pm followed by grand procession at 5.30 pm. Around 30 MLAs and 10 MPs would participate. People from various districts would witness the event. Around 300 achievers would be honoured on the occasion.

Working President Dr M N Rajendra Kumar said that pick-up, drop facility will be provided to public from various parts of Mangaluru taluk. Bus service would start at 1 pm and people from Mulki, Kinnigoli, Mukka-Surathkal-Bykampadi, Kavoor-Bajpe, Kaikamba, Vamanjoor- Gurupura, Nirumarga- Padau, Kadri- Urwa, Ullal-Thokkottu- Pandeshwar, Someshwar, Konaje, Uppala, Talapadi and nearby areas can avail the facility. Around 15,000 people in 300 would travel in 300 buses to Moodbidri. Around 75,000 people are expected to the event.
