Fishing Boat capsizes, Captain, crew rescued

Mangalore, April 13: ‘Shri Malaraya Kripa named fishing boat capsized in the sea near Bengre, Mangalore on April 13.

 

 

It is said that, ‘Shri Malaraya Kripa, the fishing boat owned by certain Ashok Kumar, left the Bengre beach shore on Monday night with seven people including captain of the boat. After the boat moved towards north side of Bengre, it developed a technical problem, as it was entering a deep sea. This has created confusion among them for sometime. They called captain to stop the boat. 

As soon as Ashok, owner of the boat receives emergency message from captain, he with a Gillnet boat and another boat ‘Sammilana’ rushed to the spot for rescuing the captain and cabin crews. They have also sent the same message to Coastal guard officials. They have also rushed to the spot for carrying out rescue operation.

But the boat moved into shallow waters and tumbled on the shores. The saviors have also put effort to pull the boat into the deep sea, before moving into shallow water. But their effort went in vein. The boat is completely damaged. The owners would have to bear a loss of approximately Rs. 30 lakhs, said Kishor Kumar, brother of Ashok.
