Mr. B K Sudhir, the coordinator of the exhibition, said that about 2000 - 3000 people arrived at Nehru Maidan to view the vehicles. The purpose of the exhibition was to satiate people’s curiosity about the beautiful vehicles. He said that many people are eager to know more about super bikes and luxury cars.

Calling the event “the first of its kind in Mangalore,” Mr. Sudhir said that 3 more Hummers were expected to be on display, but for inevitable reasons, they had not arrived. He expressed his delight at the enthusiasm of the local people who had flocked to view the vehicles and said that he would be glad to receive the same support from both the vehicle owners as well as the local people during the next exhibition.

Exotic vehicles from manufacturers such as BMW, Range Rover, Mercedes Benz, Land Rover, Lexus, and Hummer H2, were exhibited. The super bikes category included a couple of Yamaha R1s, a Honda CBR 1000, and a Suzuki GSX 1000R. The vehicle enthusiasts were delighted when the owners started their bikes.

Mr. Deekshith Shetty, a Mangalore-based businessman and owner of the Suzuki GSX 1000, said that he had purchased the bike from a Suzuki dealer in Bangalore. He said that the bike is easy to service and that the spare parts are easily available. He spent Rs 11 lakhs for the Suzuki GSX and Rs 12 lakhs for the Yamaha R1. He also informed the vehicle enthusiasts that he had recently purchased the 2010 model of a white Range Rover Sports Version SUV.

Mr. Arjun, the owner of the Honda CBR, said that he spent Rs 9 lakhs on the vehicle. Mentioning that the new model costs Rs 11 lakh, he said that he prefers the old to the new model because of its bulkier design.

The exhibition included a dance programme for the entertainment of the vehicle buffs. Vodafone had given ample publicity to the event. At the end of the event, the organizers thanked the vehicle owners and the people for making the exhibition a grand success
