First Mangalore branch of Arya Vaidya Sala inaugurated

Mangalore, Sep 29, 2011 : Dr. Vinayachandra Shetty, the principal of Ayurveda Medical College Moodubidri, inaugurated the first Mangalore branch of the Arya Vaidya Sala at a special function held at TV Raman Pai Hall on September 28 Wednesday.

 

 

Speaking on the occasion, he said that no other state uses Ayurvedic medication as much as Kerala, owing to which Kerala has become almost synonymous with ayurveda. Lamenting that people are getting alienated from Ayurvedic principles, he said that the 7 – 8 Panchakarma Centres in Mangalore have now become massage centres and have lost their significance. Urging practitioners to adopt Ayurvedic principles, he said that Ayurveda focuses more on health than on anything else.

Shrikar Prabhu, the president of the BJP unit, said that modern lifestyle decreases life span, adding that Ayurveda was not invented for the country, but for humanity.

Dr. P. K. Warrier, the managing trustee and chief physician, welcomed the guests and Arya Vaidya Sala GM K. K. Warrier proposed the vote of thanks.

Corporator Ranganath Kini, Kerala Samajam President P. K. Rajan, and V. Karunakaran were also present.

A Kathakali performance by PSV Natyasangam of Kottakkal was the highlight of the event.
