Father-son missing near Netravathi bridge; car found abandoned

Mangaluru, Feb 16, 2020:   A 52 year old man and his five year son were reported missing near the Netravathi bridge on the National Highway 66 on February 16, Sunday morning.

 

 

 

 

Those missing are Gopalakrishna Rai  and Namish Rai hailing from Baltila in Bantwal taluk, but residents of Mumbai.

Gopalkrishna Rai had  come to his relative’s house  at Pavoor  near Konaje two days ago with his wife and son to attend a Nemotsava. He had left his relative’s house at around 2.30 last night in his car along with his son. His car was found near the Netravathi bridge this morning. Public who noticed that the car was in an abandoned state with no one inside, informed the police.

Sources say a death note has been found in the car giving room for suspicion that the father and son might have jumped into the Netravathi river.

Search is on for the father and son. Gopalakrishna’s wife Ashwini G Rai has lodged a missing complaint at Konaje police station.
