Speaking during the press meet held at Circuit House on January 29, Friday, he said that BJP has totally failed to tackle the problem during their regime. Supreme Court has upheld the individual cases regarding the acquisition of Kumki Land, he said.

Rai also alleged that the BJP was politicising the issue while in reality the Congress has been helping farmers and tackling the issue in a positive way. Congress government  has helped the people concerned to get  title-deeds for kumki Lands, he said adding  Kumki Land is a government land and they have every right to own it for the purpose of cultivation.

During the chief ministership of Sadananda Gowda they could have easily provided Kumki Land for the benefit of the farmers, but the BJP government failed to do so  and also to keep up the promises made by it to the farmers, Rai alleged. It is only the Congress which works for the betterment of the farmers, he added.

Jacintha Vijay Alfred, Mayor,  Purushottam Chitrapur, Deputy Mayor, Ivan D Souza, MLC, Ibrahim Kodijaal, MUDA Chairman and Mithun Rai, District Youth Congress President  were present.

Both the political parties need credit in thier names. They does not show any concern on the farmers, it is just promoting themselves with their hidden agenda
