Revealing further details about CSI, she said that one of the objectives of the movement is to create an environment in which former sports persons can manage the Olympic Sports Federation, sports clubs, and sports associations of India. Speaking about the activities of CSI, she said that the movement has initiated activities such as discussions, runs, seminars, and others to enhance awareness among people and create public opinion regarding the mismanagement of sports by non sports persons.

She said that the CSI is currently involved in launching a number of local chapters managed by sports enthusiasts and sports persons to demand certain changes in the system. Requesting those interested to donate generously to the CSI, she said that the CSI has relentlessly worked toward sensitizing political parties, the public, as well as policy makers to create changes in the current order and to give sports persons a chance to be part of the administration.

CSI Treasurer Vandana Rao criticized Suresh Kalmadi’s failure to take up any moral responsibility and stated that he did nothing for sports persons. She also demanded that he should step down from his post.

Speaking on the occasion, Executive Committee Member Vandana Shanbagh said that former sportsmen, sports lovers, and responsible citizens should participate by becoming registered members of CSI and challenge the existing order.
