Udupi, July 18,2017: Shirva Police have arrested Umesh Amin (43), the manager of Kunjaragiri Branch of Innanje CA Bank and Umesh Acharya (49), the jewel appraiser of the bank in connection with the case wherein Shanker Acharya, the jeweller who committed suicide with his family had pledged fake gold worth Rs 65 lakhs in the bank.
It has been gathered that the two arrested persons had abetted with Shanker Acharya so that the latter could get loan.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Bank Manohar Rao had earlier complained against the duo with the Police. Fake gold weighing 3.370 grams and 28 grams of real gold worth Rs 55,000 has been seized from the Bank.
In the meantime the customers of the deceased Shanker Acharya are visiting other jewellery shops to check if he had given them fake jewels.
