Mangalore, November 20: Buildtech 2009, an exhibition of construction materials organized by the Architects’ Guild in collaboration with Association of Consulting Civil Engineers and U S Communications, Bangalore, was inaugurated at TMA Pai International Convention Hall on Nov 20, Friday by MLA Yogish Bhat. 

In his inaugural speech, MLA Yogish Bhat said that this exhibition will enhance people’s awareness of various building material required for the construction of houses. He urged the people of the city to encourage such exhibitions.

The chief guest of the occasion was Mayor Shankar Bhat; and the guests of honor were Dr K N Vijay Prakash, the commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation, and K C Nayak, the president of Confederation of Real Estate Developers of India. 

Vijay V Mayya, the secretary of Consulting Civil Engineers; Praveen Saldanha, the president of Architects’ Guild, and M Venkatesh Pai, the secretary of Architect’s Guild, were also present at the programme.

B Ashok Kumar, the chairman of the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers, said that the latest and most modern material required for the construction of houses, such as doors, windows, and so on, have been displayed at this exhibition.

The public is free to view this exhibition from Nov 20 - 22, from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
