Mangaluru Sep 15, 2016: BA Mohiudeen Poura Sanmana Samithi felicitated Ex-Minister BA Mohiudeen with the Devraj Urs award at Townhall today September 15 Thursday.
Health Minister Ramesh Kumar addressed the gathering recalled of the close bonding with Mohiudeen during his initial days and about the concern towards eachother. I personally respect Mohiudeen for his devotion through out his career, said Ramesh Kumar.
There was a time when Devraj Urs was considered to be the corrupt politician but in reality he was sincere in his thinking and free minded personality, he added.
He pointed out Mohiudeen’s honesty and the respect that he earned for which he deserves to be conferred with Devraj Urs award.
Meanwhile Documentary of BA Mohiudeen was released by Karnataka Beary Sahitya Acedamy.
Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology Ramanath Rai said that, Mohiudeen can be depicted as one of the trustworthy personality who was more concerned about social values and earned respect in the society.
Mohideen ’s contribution was vast and worked for the welfare of the downtrodden, said Rai.
Media Convenor of Chief Minister Dinesh Amin said that, Mohiudeen supported me every step in my career and adviced to be medai convenor of Chief Minister. Three years back this award should have been conferred to Mohiudeen and it can be said as this award is earned by Mohiudeen for his contribution and dedication.
Devraj Urs was a social reformer and he was the reason behind to make Bangalore as electronic city. It is a tragedy that his works failed to reach to the people, he added.
In his introductory speech Chief Whip of Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza said that, this is tribute to a person who has devoted his entire political career in serving the downtrodden and is currently serving many institution in an honorary capacity as an advisory.
Minister for Food and Civil Supplies UT Khader, MLA JR Lobo, Abhaya Chandra Jain, Mohiudeen Bhava, Police Commissioner M Chandrashekar, Mayor Harinath, Shakuntala Shetty, Ibrahim Kodijaal and others were present.
