Eviction drive against street vendors by MCC

Mangaluru, Feb 13, 2017 :  Mangaluru City Corporation launched an eviction drive against street vendors operating near the State Bank and Rao and Rao Circle on February 13, Monday.

Apparently many street vendors who were aware of the drive were away on Monday morning, while a few who were present with their saleable items had to bear the brunt as all their belongings were taken away.

 

Here it is worth mentioning that the street vending zone set up by the MCC on a prime area near the Town Hall, though was inaugurated with much fanfare, it has however failed to solve the  problem with street vendors preferring to operate from the roadsides itself.
