Mangaluru May 16, 2016: Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has said that entrepreneurship is the key to economic growth which will help India emerge a thriving economy.
Speaking at the Platinum Jubilee Celebration of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry at TMA Pai Hall on Monday May 16, he also said that entrepreneurship needs proper platform in business perspective and added proper infrastructure is also utmost essential for growth.
Suresh Prabhu also appreciated former union minister George Fernandes for his contribution towards the development of Konkan Railway by overcoming all hurdles.
Stating that his ministry intends to eradicate corruption in the Railway Department, the minister also warned of strict action against erring officials. Mangaluru has been a tempting place to visit, he said adding that he considered it as his second home.
District in-charge Minister Ramanath Rai who was present as a chief guest, lauded the role played by the KCCI in developing the region into one of the finest industrial hub.
MLA JR Lobo in his address demanded introduction of a super fast train between Mangaluru and Bengaluru. Travel time need to be reduced to 6 hours, he said.
JR Lobo congratulated KCCI for the completion of 75 years and also hailed its phenomenal contribution in pushing forward the demand to upgrade Mangaluru airport into an International Airport which is now a reality.
