Entire Thokkottu Junction quarantined after local resident tests positive for Covid-19

Mangaluru, April 5, 2020:  The entire  Thokkottu Junction as well as a residential complex in the area has been completely quarantined as per the instructions of the District Health  Department  after a 52 year  old man from Thokkottu who had returned from Delhi recently has been tested positive for Coronavirus.

The police have issued stern instructions to residents of the apartment complex  against coming out. The person who had now been tested positive for Coronavirus had been  to  Mumbai on February 6 and from there to Delhi.  He had returned from Delhi to Thokkottu on March 20.  During the lockdown he had even been to the fair price shop at Marnamikatta on March 31. Meanwhile, the police who  got information of his  Delhi travel  had  quarantined him. Now that he has been tested positive, he has been admitted to Wenlock Hospital.

Police are  trying to gather information  regarding the places where the man has travelled. All trade and business  in Thokkottu Junction and its 100 meters radius  have been suspended.
