Mangaluru, July 20, 2019: City Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil has instructed bus operators to ensure that the bus crew behaved courteously with the passengers.

Speaking at the weekly phone-in programme  held on July 19, Friday at his office, the Commissioner  while responding to several complaints from callers regarding the   rude behaviour of conductors particularly over issue of return of change to passengers, has asked the operators to  also  direct the bus crew to be co-operative as far as the issue of returning change to passengers was concerned.

 There were some complaints that conductors were refusing to provide concessional fare to students if they do not have the exact change.

There was also complaint that  some autorickshaw drivers at Derlakatte were not charging uniform rates. There was even a demand for a bus shelter near Bejai museum and speed breakers  on the stretch between Bejai Circle and KSRTC bus stand.
 Another caller complained of two-wheeler riders speeding forth on the road in front of AJ Hospital. The Commissioner assured action against over speeding in the area.

DCPs Laxmi Ganesh, Hanumantharaya, ACPs  Vinay Gaonkar, Manjunath Shetty and traffic inspectors were present.  Rajavarma Ballal, President of Kanara Bus Owners Association was also present during the phone-in.
