Mangaluru, Jan 14, 2020 : The Police Department has made elaborate security arrangements in  connection with a huge anti-CAA protest rally to be  organised by the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District units of the Muslim Central Committees at Adyar Kannur on January 15, Wednesday.

A meeting of police personnel was convened in this regard at the Police Grounds on January 14, Tuesday to    sensitize the  personnel on the  security and traffic arrangements as many police personnel have been summoned from other districts of the  state.

As many as three ADGPs, one DGP, 11 SPs, 18 ASPs, 100 DySPs, 300 inspectors ad 500 SIs took part in today’s briefing.

The Police Department   has issued guidelines for  the organisers, participants  and general public. The guidelines for participants of the rally are as follows.

All two-wheelers coming from Mangaluru to be parked  on the ground opposite Jaguar grounds, buses coming from Mangaluru and B C Road to be parked at Mohtisham grounds, two-wheelers from BC Road at Kambli grounds, four-wheelers and cars form BC Road to be parked at Adyar Katte Juma Masjid grounds. Buses coming from BC Road and Farangipete   will be parked at Heritage Ground.

Guidelines for general public are as follows :

Vehicles from Udupi which head towards  Bengaluru have to   ply via Karkala-Dharmasthala after taking diversion at Padubidri.

Vehicles from Bengaluru to Mangaluru should proceed to Mangaluru via Konaje-Thokkottu after taking diversion at Melkar- BC Road. Vehicles towards Bengaluru from Mangaluru will proceed via Pumpwell, Thokkottu, Konaje, BC Road after taking diversion at Nantoor.
