Education institutions help students face challenges of life : Lobo

Mangalore, July 2, 2013 : Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo inaugurated the Students’ Council of St Aloysius Pre-University College at a function held at the Loyola Hall of the College on July 1, Monday. Fr Elwis Lewis, Principal of the College administered the oath to the newly elected office bearers of the Students’ Council.

Rahul Vaz, Neil Rego took oath as President and Vice President respectively, while Justine Danthi took oath as Secretary. The Council Members were administered oath by the Council President Rahul Vaz.

MLA Lobo was also warmly felicitated on the occasion on behalf of the college. Speaking on the occasion, Lobo said the students councils in colleges provide a golden opportunity to the student community to function in a true democratic set up. Stating that the future of the nation lay in the hands of its youth he said educational institutions play a very important role in shaping the future of the youth and helping them face the challenges of life.

Fr Elvis in his presidential address, said the nation needed good leaders and urged students to develop leadership qualities.

Vice Principal Rekha Alva and several others were present on the occasion.
