Duo arrested for illegally stocking, selling PDS rice

Bantwal, May 02, 2019:  Bantwal Police  have arrested two persons on the charges of stocking and selling  rice meant for distribution under PDS. Police have also seized  5,470 kgs of rice stocked in 150 bags.

The arrested persons are   Abdul Hakeem  of Goodinabali and vehicle driver Abdul Salam.  Apart from rice, a weighing machine, two sewing machines  and a pick-up vehicle have been seized from the arrested persons.

The operation followed a tip off and was led by Bantwal Food  Department officer Srinivas and Bantwal ASP Saidul Adavath.
