Drugs racket busted : 2 arrested with 120 kg ganja

Mangaluru, Feb 07, 2024: CCB Police of Mangaluru have arrested two men of Kerala origin on the charges of smuggling huge quantity of ganja to Mangaluru and Kerala from Odisha. Police have seized 120 kg ganja from them.

Those arrested are Anup MS (28) from Wayanad and Latif K V (36) from Kannur. Acting on a tip off a team led by CCB Inspector Shyamsunder raided a place at Pilikur in Talapady and arrested the duo.

The ganja seized from them is said to be valued at Rs 28 lakhs. Apart from ganja, three mobile phones, cash of Rs 4,020 and a jeep have been seized from them. The total value of the seized goods is Rs 35,14,520.

The accused used to smuggle ganja from Odisha via Andhra Pradesh and Bengaluru and had an iron box in their Bolero vehicle to smuggle ganja. More people are suspected to be behind this illegal activity and efforts are on to trace them.
