Mangaluru, June 03, 2020: A delegation of the District Congress Committee met DK District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary on June 2, Tuesday, and submitted a memorandum enlisting the various measures the administration needs to take to mitigate the hardships faced by the people due to the lockdown.
The delegation also sought special package for the people, particularly beedi workers, drivers, conductors, labourers and others who are hit hard due to the lockdown.
The delegation included DCC Chief Harish Kumar, District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai, MLC Ivan D’Souza, MLA and former minister U T Khader and others.
A Congress delegation had earlier met the Deputy Commissioner on Tuesday and had submitted a memorandum. The Congress leaders also demanded better facilities at institutional quarantine centres and also measures to bring back all stranded Kannadigas in Maharashtra and other states.
