Mangaluru, April 29, 2020: The district administration which had permitted fish business a few days ago with certain pre-conditions has now decided to suspend fish sale in view of the heavy rush outside the old port due to the presence of fish lorries from other districts as well as large number of labourers resulting in social distancing norm going for a toss.
Large number of people also used to throng the place for purchase of fish making it difficult even for the police to ensure social distancing. In this backdrop the fish sellers and commission agents association had suspended trade a few days ago.
The district administration has now not only banned outside state fish vehicles, but has also banned sale of fish until lockdown ends.
