Mangaluru, Feb 9,2017, The Director General Rajendra Singh, PTM, TM, Director General Indian Coast Guard alongwith Additional Director General K Natarajan, PTM, TM, Coast Guard Commander Western Seaboard and other Senior Officers of Coast Guard had visited Karwar for reviewing the overall infrastructure development and Coastal Security Mechanism of Uttar Kannada district.

The Flag Officer had interactions with Shri SS Nakul, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, UK, and Shri Vinayak Patil, SP, Karwar, Port Officials and other concerned. DC, Karwar assured that all the assistance will be provided to Coast Guard for Infrastructure development at Karwar. Director General Indian Coast Guard appreciated the dedicated efforts of Coast Guard at Karwar for successful operations in terms of 05 SAR (search and rescue) and medical evacuations in last one year and for instituting strict measures to ensure compliance of mandates by the fishermen. Coast Guard Karwar, is leaving no stone unturned in order to have safer seas and secure coasts.
 
The visit of DGICG was intended for developing synergy with other stake holders in our maritime domain.     The visit of Coast Guard Chief at Karwar is bound to enhance coordination and cooperation between Coast Guard and other Stake holders and result in productive development at infrastructure front of Coast Guard at Karwar.

ICGS Karwar has been working in tandem with the Central and State Government agencies in achieving prime national agenda viz. coastal and seaward security besides undertaking other mandated duties of Coast Guard. The Flag officer reiterated that Coast Guard is serving the Nation 24X 7 and is living upto the motto of “We Protect”.
