Mangaluru, Mar 30, 2015: Mangaluru received a brief shower of rain  in the early hours of march 30.   Dharmasthala in Belthangady taluk of Dakshina Kannada district recorded maximum rainfall of 16mm in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on March 29. Belthangady hobli in Belthangady taluk of Dakshina Kannada district recorded maximum temperature of 40.6°C on March 28 at 2pm. Jalihal hobli in Sindhanur taluk of Raichur district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 13.2°C at 5.15am on March 29.

More than 90% relative humidity hasDharmasthala in DK gets highest rainfall in last 24 hrs been recorded in 26.9% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 86.1% geographical area in the state. Rainfall over the state is considered as isolated since 1% of the hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall of =2.5mm. Moderate rain was recorded in three gram panchayats (GP); light rain in four gram panchayats; very light rain in seven gram panchayats; and no rainfall in the remaining 3,605 gram panchayats across the state.

Karnataka for period from March 23 to March 29 recorded deficit rainfall of 81%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 2.5mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 0.5mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on March 29, four geographical regions received 0mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 0.5mm, a 92% deficit departure from the weighted-average normal.
