Dharmasthala, Oct 25, 2016 : The 49th Pattabhisheka Mahotsava of Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D Veerendra Heggade was held at Dharmasthala on October 24, Monday. State Mujrai Minister Rudrappa Maanappa Lamaani who was present as a chief guest congratulated the people of Dharmasthala on this occasion for their town being adjudged the Cleanest Pilgrim Town In India.
On this occasion, the minister honoured Veerendra Heggade and his brother D Harshendra Kumar and said that Dharmasthala Rural Development Project was a model to the entire world for its pioneering efforts in rural development and also in creating awareness among rurals on cleanliness and even helping empowerment of women through Self-Help Groups.
Local MLA Vasanth Bangera presided over the function, while Rajya Sabha Member Dr Prabhaker Kore was the chief guest.
Dr D Veerendra Heggade who spoke on the occasion, said there can be peace and harmony in the society only when every individual follows the path of Dharma. The Almighty will always bestow his blessings on those who perform good deeds, he added.
He released a book entitled ’Dharmasthalada Ithihaasa’ authored by Bangadi Raviraj Ballal.
Thirteen senior employees of the Kshetra were felicitated on the occasion. Kaujalagi Mutt, MLC, K Abhayachandra Jain, former minister, Hemavathi Heggade, Mohandas Swamiji of Maanila Mutt, Prof. S Prabhaker, D Surendra Kumar, Dr D Yashovarma, Secretary of SDM Educational Institutions and others were present.
