Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Paryaya Pejawar Mutt and Vishwaprasanna Tirtha, junior seer, stamped the images of Shankha and Chakra on the chest and arms of devotees. These seals were earlier heated in the Sudarshana Homa at the temple. The Chakra is stamped on the right arm, while the Shankha is stamped on the left arm.

The stamping ritual, which began at around 9 a.m., went on till about 3 p.m. There was a long queue of devotees stretching up to the Car Street for Tapta Mudra Dharana. This ritual is held on the Prathama Ekadasi or Sayani Ekadasi of Aashada month of the Lunar calendar.

Tapta Mudra Dharana was also held at the Krishnapur Mutt and Shiroor Mutt, where Vidyasagara Tirtha Swami of Krishnapur Mutt and Lakshmivara Tirtha Swami of Shiroor Mutt stamped the Shankha and Chakra images on the devotees.
